Cymru Cuba
|
Cymru Cuba was set up in 1982 to promote friendship and understanding between the peoples of Wales and Cuba.
There are branches in North and South Wales making up the Wales region of the Cuba Solidarity Campaign (CSC)
which is just one of over one hundred and thirty sister organisations worldwide.
Why Wales and Cuba? On the face of it the two countries have little in common, but each possess a distinctive
history and culture, and each lives in close proximity to a great and powerful neighbour. Cymru Cuba, conscious
of these historical and geographical links, has for over twenty years, organised many events designed to give a
picture of Cuba with which people living in Wales can identify and empathise.

Town Twinning Associations |
Denbigh Twinning Association
|
Denbigh is twinned with Biebertal in Germany. The Association was set up to encourage cultural and social links between
the two areas. Exchange visits are arranged each year, and this year 30 people from Denbigh and district will be visiting
Biebertal at the beginning of April and will be staying with the friends they have made over the previous years.
Membership of this association is open to anybody and is not, as many people think, restricted to council members.
Biebertal is also
twinned with Sarrien in France and links have been set up between the three places to enable children from each place to
meet each year at summer camps. Last year children from Denbigh, France and Germany stayed at a summer camp near
Llanrwst and had a wonderful time. This summer, children from Denbigh will be travelling to Sarrien where they will
meet up wtih a group from Germany.
